Our renowned restaurant, 'Ruean Sai Lom' is idyllically placed between the classically designed swimming pool, lined with terra-cotta friezes and the magnificent Choengmon Beach. Impeccable design combined with luxurious use of flowers, fabrics and stone do make you 'feel like a president'.

Restaurant
The tables are sectioned off from one other by the clever use of drapes and hangings, making it feel like an extremely private affair. And although 'up-market', there is no dress code. At one table you'll find shorts and T-shirts worn by a honeymooning couple, while at the next there'll be a group of executives in tuxedos, creating a friendly, Bohemian ambience.
Pool
Our freshwater swimming pool is located next to the "Ruean Sai Lom" Restaurant and just 20 metres from the beach. The swimming pool is 13 m long and 7 m wide and has several access points. The deeper end of the pool is 2 m for better swimmers, while the shallow end is just 1 m deep, ideal for children and non-swimmers. Circled around the pool you will find cushioned sun loungers for to laze the day away. Beach towels are available in your bathroom and can be taken to the swimming pool or to the beach.

Choeng Mon Beach
Choengmon Beach is peaceful, romantic and clean, making it a delightful escape from the wearisome hustle and bustle of daily life. As it is not the at the center of any village or community, this tranquil and calm beach is the prefered spot for couples or families seeking peace and privacy. The sparkling, azure waters of Choengmon Bay are also relatively shallow, allowing kids of all ages to enjoy the waters in safety.

Choengmon Beach lies on the North East coast of Koh Samui, near Big Buddha Beach and around 4 kilometers north of Chaweng.
After a tiring day out in the sun why not pamper yourself in our small, yet sophisticated spa. Our spa facilities include a jacuzzi and a newly built airconditioned massage salon. The massage salon can be sub-divided into two rooms, each with two massage beds, for both Thai and international health treatments. Use of the jacuzzi is complimentary for our hotel guests.

SAUNA
There are 02 sauna rooms in resort that were ordered from Finland .The traditional Finnish sauna offers is a thorough cleansing of the body. The heat of the sauna helps to open pores in the skin and, through heavy perspiration, flush out built-up bacteria. Regular sauna use is also good for pain relief, blood circulation, and strengthening the body's immune system.

Body Scrub
Thai Massage is an interactive manipulation of the body using passive stretching and gentle pressure along energy lines. These movements help to
- adjust the skeletal structure
- increase flexibility
- relieve muscular and joint tension

Sauna - stimulate internal organs
- balance the body's energy system
The effect is uniquely relaxing as well as energizing.
Sessions typically last two hours, and are performed on a floor mat with the client dressed in comfortable loose clothing. Thai Massage uses two primary procedures - applying gentle pressure with the hands and feet, and a wide variety of passive stretching movements.
This ancient therapy is beneficial for young or old, active or inactive, healthy or not so healthy. While each person will respond to this work in terms of their own experience and present state of health, it is well to remember that Thai Massage has been used for countless generations to treat degenerative conditions and promote wellness.
Thai Massage facilitates a sense of unity, wholeness, and balance. It creates a dynamic physical experience which integrates the body, mind, emotions and spirit.
Swedish Massage
The term "Swedish Massage" refers to a variety of techniques specifically designed to relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones, and rubbing in the same direction as the flow of blood returning to the heart. Swedish massage was developed in the 1700's by a Swedish doctor named Pir Henrik Ling.

Spa Jacuzzi
The main purpose of Swedish massage is to increase the oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles.
Swedish massage shortens recovery time from muscular strain by flushing the tissues of lactic acid, uric acid, and other metabolic wastes. It increases circulation without increasing heart load. It stretches the ligaments and tendons keeping them supple and pliable. Swedish Massage also stimulates the skin and nervous system and soothes the nerves themselves at the same time. It reduces stress, both emotional and physical, and is suggested in a regular program for stress management. It also has many specific medical uses.
Swedish massage techniques include: long strokes, kneading, friction, tapping, percussion, vibration, effleurage, and shaking motions. The usually sequence of techniques are:
Effleurage: Gliding strokes with
the palms, thumbs and/or fingertips
Petrissage: Kneading movements with
the hands, thumbs and/or fingers
Friction: Circular pressures with
the palms of hands, thumbs and/or fingers
Vibration: Oscillatory movements
that shake or vibrate the body
Percussion: Brisk hacking or
tapping
Passive and active movements:
Bending and stretching
Benefits of Swedish Massage:

Massage Area
Swedish massage feels good, is relaxing and invigorating. It affects the nerves, muscles, glands, and circulation, while promoting health and well being.

We have been visiting Koh Samui, and the other islands, for
several years and normally split our time in between 3
different locations on different islands. Traditionally, we
have always stayed next door at Choengmon "Hotel", which is
great value for money but this time booked into the White
House as a special treat. It was lovely to be greated with
an ice-cold flannel and a fresh coconut by the lovely staff
dressed in traditional Thai dress. The atmosphere is calm,
the furniture in the lobby areas appears antique, it has old
fashioned charm and the location is first class - right in
the middle of one of the best beaches on the island.
The bathrooms are in need for refurbishment however, I quite appreciated having a bath instead of a shower (once they had found a plug for me). You are expected to sit in the bath to have a shower with the hand-held shower attachment and the water does go all over the raised wooden platform. However, we all enjoyed our experience. The cost was not prohibitive, the pool lovely, the breakfasts delicious, the jungle walkway cool (they spray it daily for the midges) and the service on the front desk very personal. Let's hope they get those bathrooms refurbished soon! |

We chose Cheongmon Beach because it is away from the main
tourist strip of Chewang but still offered a good selection
of beach restaurants & shopping. It's only about 10 minutes
from the busy Chaweng but so much quieter. We chose the
White House Hotel because of location and price and were not
disappointed.
While the rooms could use a make-over, they were clean, quiet and serviced daily. The shower went from hot to cold & back again frequently but there was plenty of water pressure. The bathroom does need updating but it is spacious. Air-con worked well and the bed & furnishings were good. The staff were great and most spoke adequate English. Breakfast was included with a very good selection of hot & cold dishes. The pool is large & very clean. The gardens are a delight. There are very comfortable sun lounges for use on the beach and it's not difficult to attract the attention of staff to order food and drinks. We found the guests to be of mature age, mostly Russian & French and some with children. It was the beginning of the "Off Season" so the place was not busy and we found our stay everything we wanted. Relaxing & enjoyable. We would stay there again. |

When we arrived at the hotel we were very disappointed with
our room. It was very "tired" looking and smelt damp, but as
it was late and we were tired ourself we accepted it. In the
morning I went to have a shower but then realised there was
no shower, just a very deep partially sunken bath that you
had to get into (very dangerous to get out of and then
negotiate the now wet steps to get on the floor) There was a
hand held shower to rinse your hair but the hose too short
to try to shower with.
We asked if we could change room and in all fairness after a couple of days we were moved to a junior suit. The room was better and had a proper shower but the entire hotel feels like it is set in the middle of a jungle, so is incredibly dark. (It's not, it's on practically on the beech)The windows are completely covered by huge plants so there is no view of anything at all. All of the plants are watered in the afternoon and this then causes midges to be everywhere. The staff around the restaurant and beech area (no actual bar to have a drink from, just restaurant staff to serve you) were not attentive at all. They joked among themselves a lot but were not very happy to break from their conversations to serve you at all. All in all, its not terribly expensive place to stay, but I would never want to stay there again. There's a lot better for less money. I will go back to Choeng Mon, but not to the White House. For this sort of budget, I'd recommend the Boat House. Personally, I'll be going back to the Sala. |

I have been back to the White House three times already and
hope I can visit again and again. The workers are friendly
and helpful, especially Kate at the front desk. It's the
nicest beach on the island and you get the most comfortable
deck chairs even than resorts with more "stars". The food is
good, nothing to get super excited about - but solid. You
can find great food for quite cheap across the street. Soft
sand, clear water - quiet town and you can always go to Chav/Coatto
Chaweng if you want the "excitement" - just down the road
with taxi - Tuk tuk or rented scooters.

The hotel is dirty, tired and does not deserve a four star
rating in our view.

This hotel consists of about 16 two-storeys houses spread
along a lush garden corridor that leads from the hotel main
entrance to the beach. We stayed in a ground floor room
which was clean and large enough for two persons but it
seemed to need some renovation.
Our bathtub and water tap was quite worn-out, and we had also some troubles with air-conditioning. On the bright side we really enjoyed rich buffet breakfast which is served in a hotel restaurant facing a beach. The beach itself is one of the best we could see on Ko Samui, not so crowed as Chaweng or Lamai. The Choeng Mon bay is rather shallow (as most of the others) so don't expect amazing see life and count with boulders sticking out of water on low tide. Still we really liked this beach and with some minor flaws also the hotel resort. |
